Superior Donuts opens at Main Street Playhouse on Friday, September 28


Main Street Players, located at 6766 Main Street, presents Superior Donuts by Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Tracy Letts at the Main Street Playhouse. 

Arthur Przybyszewski owns a decrepit donut shop in the uptown neighborhood of Chicago. Franco Wicks, a teenager who is his only employee, wants to change the shop for the better. This comedy-drama explores the challenges of embracing the past, and the redemptive power of friendship. 

The show is directed by Danny Nieves, and the production manager is Dennis Lyzniak. The cast includes:

Arthur Przybyszewski is played by John Dalton, Franco Wicks is played by Roderick Randl, Max Tarasov is played by Joel Kolker, Luther Flynn is played by Fernando Guillen, Lady Boyle is played by Joanne Marsi, Officer Randy Osteen is played by Laurie Tanner, Officer James Bailey is played by Leo Jasper Davis, Kevin Magee is played by David Gonzalez, and Kiril is played by Danilo Rocha.

Superior Donuts runs September 28 through October 21 (except September 30) with shows on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There is a show Thursday, October 18 at 8 p.m. 

Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for students, seniors(62+) and military personnel. Theatre League members or Industry tickets are $20 with I.D. presented at the door.
