Main Street Players open Iphigenia in Aulis on Friday, Dec. 1

The Main Street Players present Iphigenia in Aulis in early December, the first show of the 2017-2018 season and the second MSP production performed entirely in Spanish.

Where does political ambition have limits and how far can man reach to achieve them? Perhaps, even sacrificing a child? Are reflection and reasoned judgment worthy, or are men always the prey of their destiny? The last of the surviving works by the playwright Euripides, Iphigenia in Aulis is a play that questions the boundaries of ambitions and the meaning of who is really a hero.

The show is directed by Isaac Polanco with Danny Nieves as the production manager. The cast includes Alejandro Milían as Agamenón, Camila Rodriguez as Ifigenia, Tamara Melían as Clitemnestra, Steven Salgado as Anciano/Mensajero, Nicolas Szantos as Menelao, Carlos Mena as Aquiles, and Noelia Villaroel, Guccyleny Martinez, Rosalyn Tavarez and Jen Gasca as Mujeres del coro.

Iphigenia in Aulis runs December 1 - 17, with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. at the Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main Street. Tickets are $30 for adults, and $25 for students, seniors, and military personnel.
Theatre League members $20 with I.D at the door only. Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.mainstreetplayers.com, or at the box office 60 minutes prior to showtime. Advance tickets have a $5 discount. For more information contact Patty Fernandez at 786-344-7551.
