Festival of Lights fills Main Street on Nov. 25

The Graham Companies and Main Street Merchants invite Miami Lakes residents and other South Floridians to join them for the 33rd annual Main Street Festival of Lights scheduled from 5 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 25.

Every holiday season, Main Street becomes that magical place to make memories with family, friends and loved ones.

This year, those memories will be brimming as guests of all ages join the festive fun, experiencing a series of holiday-themed activities along the two blocks of Downtown Miami Lakes.

Family-friendly activities throughout the event include the Lighting of Main Street at 6:30 p.m. on the Main Stage, photo stations, performances by students from local schools, characters, a live DJ, and complimentary activities for children courtesy of the presenting sponsors along with supporting sponsor Publix Super Markets.

TV and radio personality Gigi Diaz from 93.9 MIA (Miami’s Rhythm From the ‘80s to Now), will serve as mistress of ceremonies. Media partners include The Miami Herald, y100 Miami’s #1 Hit Music Channel, and 93.9 MIA.

The festivities continue as Main Street is transformed into a holiday wonderland. Santa Claus is coming and he’s not camera shy. Visitors can take pictures with Santa and meet Mrs. Claus. Proceeds from all photo purchases will benefit Miami Lakes Boy Scout Troop 49.

Visitors to Main Street will discover why this charming shopping, dining and entertainment destination has attracted generations of distinguished locals and travelers to its enchanting setting.

Arrive early and bring family and friends before the festival begins to take advantage of the sales in honor of Small Business Saturday – a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for the local community.

Winners of the recent Town of Miami Lakes Economic Development Committee’s “Best of Miami Lakes” survey will be honored during the festival.

“Residents of Miami Lakes and neighboring cities have celebrated the annual Festival of Lights with its time-honored traditions and heartwarming experiences for over three decades,” said Andrea Graham Rechichi, vice president of Corporate and Customer Relations at The Graham Companies.

“We at The Graham Companies are delighted to host this diverse multicultural tradition that, year-after-year, brings families together to celebrate the start of the holiday season.”
