Monsignor Pace students celebrate Grandparent’s Day with annual Mass on Nov. 2

In recognition of the special connection shared between children and grandparents, Pace High School hosted the annual Grandparents Mass and Breakfast on Thursday, November 2.

The Grandparents Day morning celebration, which had been rescheduled from September due to Hurricane Irma, was held in the school’s chapel and was attended by nearly 30 students and their family members.

The celebrant on the mass, Father Elvis A. Gonzalez spoke warmly to the families in both English and Spanish. He spoke about the importance of making every second count with loved ones while we are still able to share our time with them.

During an emotional moment of the mass, the students were asked to stand and offer a genuine embrace and a sincere message of “I love you” with their grandparents; as for many, the most difficult part about life is realizing that the opportunities to say meaningful words are taken for granted and missed.

The moving morning mass was followed by an invitation to all families to join in a light breakfast in the campus’ Administration Building. Grandparents were able to relax and share a few special moments with their grandchildren before students began their classes for the day.
