Pace High's Vanessa Perez-Robles attends Yale University prestigious summer event

 

Vanessa Perez-Robles, a junior at Monsignor Edward Pace High School (Pace) has been accepted into the Yale University Young Global Scholars Program which will take place this summer on the university’s campus in New Haven, Connecticut. 

The Young Global Scholars Program is a highly selective leadership program available to high school students from around the world. It is designed to unite the most talented students and guide them in making meaningful impacts as young leaders, even before they begin their university studies.

This year’s program drew in of over 6,000 applicants from 130 countries for the various interest programs available. Perez-Robles was one of only 250 applicants chosen specifically for the Applied Science and Engineering session. The session is designed for students who have an interest and want to further explore the application of physical, computer sciences and engineering.

The two week residential program running from June 17 to 30 will be filled with seminars, lectures and classes taught by Yale's faculty of renowned professors, graduate and undergraduate students. In addition, the rising senior will also be tasked with conducting her own research during the program on a topic of interest while having the ability to use Yale's facilities.
