North Twin Lakes Elementary Community School will have its end-of-year performance including the school’s chorus and violinists, Art Students Gallery Night Exhibition, award-winning Community School Dancers, After School Program, piano students, and Drama Club performers. The event will be held at Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High School on Wednesday, May 13, at 6:00 p.m. The art exhibition will open at 5:00 p.m.

  Monsignor Edward Pace High School junior Mia Lama and freshman Matthew Schaffer improved their leadership skills at the Youth Leadership Miami conference sponsored by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and held at Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay Campus from March 20-21. Lama and Schaffer were invited to the conference after an application process where they answered questions pertaining to Miami-Dade County....

 

Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High student Karla Moran was selected as one of the Renay Rossi – Distinguished Artist Award winners for the “Museum & Art Technology Program Student Showcase” at Coral Gables Museum. The reception took place at the Coral Gables Museum on Saturday, May 2. The art piece, pictured, was titled “Unity.” 
  Several Miami Lakes area high school athletes were honored with scholarship awards during the recent Scholar-Athlete Luncheon hosted by the Dade Schools Athletic Foundation. Lauren Book, CEO of the Lauren’s Kids Foundation, served as guest speaker, and her organization presented a $1,000 scholarship to Barbara Goleman bowler Gabriella Sallai.
