Carlo Krockel, owner of Adazzles Salon and Beauty Supply in Miami Lakes, is continuing a series of paying-it-forward altruism wherein he finds deserving members of the community by partnering with local church representatives to offer a complete makeover free of charge. Adazzles was featured early this year for the Pay It Forward campaign on NBC/Telemundo.
“I did this because I just want to give back to the community,” said Krockel. “I want to help in any way I can and make people feel good about themselves, inside and out.”
Krockel and the Adazzles Salon team partnered with local businesses, like Miami Lakes Auto Mall, who donate funds for two people every month to have lunch, receive two full outfits, haircut, styling, and makeup. To date Krockel has had eight deserving clients nominated by their churches to receive a makeover day.
The Pay It Forward event is a campaign that began in January 2015 and will continue until December. Each month has a theme, and in fitting with that theme, two mothers, a mother and daughter duo, will be selected for May, just in time for Mother’s Day and two fathers will be chosen for June. Krockel also plans to do a teacher’s theme for the new school year.
“My team was superb with transforming these women,” said Krockel. “And the women were astounded. No one gives something away for no reason, and yet here they were getting a whole day of lunch, outfits and styling done just because.”
