Gardenia Saumell became a Realtor in South Florida in 1975 and founded her own brokerage firm, GES Realty, in 1985.
Saumell, 87, said her business, at 2550 W. 84th St. in Hialeah, has served generations of home buyers and sellers.
“Most of our clients are repeat customers,” Saumell said. “We see a lot of younger clients as well.
“We work with a lot of referrals, and family members that refer us to their other family members,” she said.
Saumell is also a mortgage broker and a licensed residential and commercial property manager.
Though she is a veteran in the business and could retire after more than four decades, Saumell said, “I’ve done this for so long
because helping someone get their own home, that’s what motivates me to keep going.
“Helping others follow their own dreams and to be able to do everything I’ve done is a blessing,” she said.
Family is a theme for how she does business, too.
“My daughter, Martha Saumell, works with me, she’s a real estate agent working on sales,” Saumell said.
The pair appear together in the GES Realty ads that are published in The Miami Laker, where the firm maintains a regular presence.
“I’ve been advertising since 1988,” Saumell said. “Miami Lakes to me is one of the best communities, and the response I’ve received through the years with advertising has been great.
“The results we get are worth it,” she said.
