Miami Lakes resident Armando Bernal IV will appear on South Florida PBS’s new show “Kid Stew.” Created by best-selling author James Patterson and hosted by a pre-teen cast, the show is about engaging older kids in reading, music, art and creative expression. Sketches, videos, fun facts, global virtual visits and guest appearances will take place on the show as well.
Bernal is 11-years-old, and has lived in Miami Lakes his whole life. He is currently attending Hialeah Gardens Middle School, and is a Miami Lakes K-8 Center alum.
“The absolute best part of being on ‘Kid Stew’ is getting the opportunity to meet so many cool people and make lasting friendships,” Bernal said.
“Kid Stew” isn’t the only thing Bernal has acted in. Since he was 5-years-old, Bernal has been an actor. However, this isn’t his end goal.
“I do plan to continue acting, but I also want to go into politics. I aspire to be the President of the U.S.A.” explained Bernal.
Producing station South Florida PBS premiered the series on stations WPBT in Miami and WXEL in West Palm Beach on April 15 with marathons of the four, half-hour episodes airing 8 to10 a.m. on channel 2 in Miami and 10 a.m. to noon on channel 42 in West Palm Beach. Encore presentations of the program will air with weekly episodes on WPBT/2 Fridays at 4 p.m. beginning April 20 and on WXEL/42 Sundays at 9 a.m. beginning April 22. South Florida PBS will distribute the series nationally to public television stations via American Public Television beginning May 1.
