BankUnited executive wins award

Julio Jogaib, chief information officer at BankUnited in Miami Lakes, was named Financial Innovator of the Year.
The recognition came Nov. 14 during an industry conference held at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables.

Jogaib is responsible for information technology operations at the bank.
One of his most significant projects was implementing a full disaster recovery environment in the cloud, the bank said.
Jogaib joined BankUnited three years ago. He previously worked a quarter century with one of the largest U.S. banks, also in information technology, in America and Latin America, BankUnited said.
