BankUnited promotes executive

BankUnited has promoted Raul Llanes to head of institutional and specialty real estate.
Llanes, 35, (shown above) lives in Weston.
He led the bank’s expansion of its newly launched real estate investment trust lending platform and other institutional, commercial real estate business lines.
Llanes was previously head of commercial real estate credit products and a south region managing senior credit officer.
He will report to Benjamin Stacks, executive vice president, commercial real estate.
During his six years at BankUnited, Llanes has held leadership roles within credit, underwriting and lending departments and was most recently overseeing credit products for commercial real estate, the bank said in a March 18 press release.
Llanes earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami and a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University in Miami, the bank said.
He will be based at the bank’s Miami Lakes headquarters at 14817 Oak Lane.
