‘Best of Miami Lakes’ winners revealed

The 3rd Annual “Best of Miami Lakes Awards” winners include familiar merchants chosen by voters as well as some new
businesses in town.
The Town of Miami Lakes and its Economic
Development
Committee announced voters’ choices on Dec. 10.
First time winner NQC, or No Quiero Cocinar (I don’t want to cook) clinched two categories: The best café/cup of coffee and best lunch spot.
The drive-thru is at 6189 Miami Lakes Drive East.
Two winners are in The Cypress Village Shopping Center:
Dr. Limon Ceviche Bar, which won the best dinner spot category for the second year in a row, and FH Fashion House, which took home the best shopping category for the first time.
Fashion House owner Amy Diaz (shown below) said she felt extremely humbled to receive the award.
“I just want to thank everyone that voted and took time from their busy schedules,” Diaz said. “Without them, we wouldn’t be here today. This award isn’t only for me, but is also for them.”
The Spa at Shula’s, located at 15150 Bull Run Road, won the beauty category again.
“The Spa at Shula’s is extremely honored to have won this category for a third year in a row,” said Spa Manager Kathy Fazekas.
“We consider ourselves a neighborhood spa where many of our guests are known by their first names.
“We are so happy to be able to provide high quality services to our surrounding community and to be a quiet spot to be pampered and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life,” Fazekas said.
The best health care provider category saw a first-time winner, Lakes Family Eye Care Center, at 14750 NW 77th Court.

Martin, who has cared for patients at the business for nearly two years.
“It means the world to me,” she said. “This is a passion of mine and to see that others see my passion means everything.”
The best professional service provider was First Origin
Mortgage Lenders, also a first-time winner.
The business is at 14100 Palmetto Frontage Road.
