On Saturday, April 18, Catholic Hospice honored its 220 volunteers at a special luncheon held at Shula’s Hotel in the Grand Slam Ballroom. The volunteers at the hospice read, sing and play instruments for the patients and are considered “Helping Angels” by the organization. "This is the most rewarding experience I've had since my three years working for Catholic Hospice, being able to offer a helping hand to a care giver that needs a few minutes to pick up groceries, or even if its to shine some happiness, by a volunteer singing a patients favorite song, that is most rewarding," said Javier Diaz, manager of Volunteer Services for Catholic Hospice.
