CMX Cinemas Miami Lakes has instituted a curfew for evening shows that begin at 8 p.m. or later.

Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is 21 or older and has proper identification.

The policy at the complex, at 6711 Main St. in Miami Lakes, began Oct. 22 and applies to all evening shows.

Minors who are inside the cinemas before 8 p.m. and are not with an adult will be required to remain inside the theater where their movie is being shown and will not be allowed to visit concessions, said Nelson Fernandez, general manager.

The complex is undergoing a major renovation, installing reclining seats in theaters, opening a sports bar and offering “upscale concessions,” the company said.

Main Street also has a code of conduct, which requires an adult to accompany minors from 8 p.m.  - 6 a.m., 7 days a week.

Under that policy, one parent or guardian may chaperone up to three minors, including their own children.
