Harvey Cohen and Steven Pessoa opened Cohen Pessoa Law Group (CPLG) in Miami Lakes to offer exceptional real estate law services to the community. The law group is located at 14361 Commerce Way, Suite 307.

CPLG offers services in real estate law for residential and commercial closings, title insurance, pre-construction development, residential and commercial leasing; for business and transactional law services including corporate formation, governance, records and documentation, and commercial transactions; and for estate planning wills, living wills, power of attorney, and revocable trusts. For an exhaustive list of services visit www.cohenpessoalaw.com.

Cohen, managing partner, has over 18 years of experience in commercial and residential real estate transactions and general corporate and business law. He earned his J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law and his LL.M. at Washington College of Law. He has extensive experience in IRS tax matters, has served as a legal counsel for bank inventory of distressed loans, bankruptcy law, and  more.

“I’ve always known I wanted to be a lawyer, since before high school,” said Cohen.

Pessoa earned his J.D. and a Transactional Law Certificate at Emory University School of Law. Pessoa worked at a boutique Miami law firm and specialized in representing high net work individuals in real estate acquisitions. He has experience in corporate governances, securities regulation, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, and more.

Cohen and Pessoa bring years of experience and passion to CPLG, building on the business partnership they created in 2015, for Miami Lakes and the surrounding areas, in a location that is central to all major cities in South Florida.

“Not all law firms, whether big or small, are created equal,” said Cohen. “Aside from the exceptional quality of service that CPLG provides, whether it be a simple residential real estate closing, the preparation of a trust agreement, or a sophisticated commercial or corporate real estate transaction, what has distinguished our firm from others has been our availability to clients. Keeping the lines of communications open is a tremendous asset that has enabled us to grow immensely in a short period of time.”
