Commissioner Bovo adds Nikki Whiting to his office

Miami-Dade County Commissioner Esteban L. Bovo, Jr. has tapped Nikki Whiting as the communications director for his office.
Bovo represents District 13 which includes Miami Lakes, Hialeah and Palm Springs North.
“I’m excited to welcome Ms. Whiting where she’ll be a strong addition to our hardworking team,” Bovo said. “I am confident that with her knowledge and creative insight, Nikki will further develop and deepen my communications outreach by sharing news of my legislative efforts with my district and Miami-Dade County.”
Whiting previously served a legislative assistant and press secretary for recently retired U.S. Congresswoman Illeana Ros-Lethtinen in Washington D.C.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Florida and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Public Administration at the University of Miami.
A Miami native, Whiting will craft and execute the commissioner’s communications strategy to support his legislative priorities, which include transportation, combatting climate change and increasing fun safety.
