Costa Relators Corporation recently hosted a fundraiser for State Representative Manny Diaz Jr., who’s running for the State Senate, on Main Street in Miami Lakes.
Diaz, a Republican who is term-limited in the state’s House of Representatives, faces Democrat challenger David Perez. a Coral Gables firefighter lieutenant, for the District 36 seat on November 6.
Miami Lakes community leaders attended the fundraiser to show their support for Diaz, who’s credited with securing state funding for capital improvements projects in Miami Lakes including millions of dollars for stormwater drainage improvements and a blasting study.
So far, Diaz has raised more than $500,000 for his campaign.
“We had a great turn out with many business leaders from the community to show our support towards Manny Daiz Jr. Manny has been an outstanding State Representative for the past years bringing millions of dollars for projects in Miami Lakes and as well as leading the charge on Education in Tallahassee,” Roberto Alonso Jr. said. “We are proud to support him and look forward to having him represent us as the next State Senator.”
