As part of Small Business Saturday, Miami Lakes’ Economic Development Committee encourages all residents to show their support for the local business community by nominating their favorite small business for the inaugural “Best of Miami Lakes” awards.
Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses across the country. Founded by American Express in 2010, the day is celebrated each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year, Small Business Saturday will be celebrated on Saturday, November 25, the same day as the Festival of Lights on Main Street.
Residents are invited to submit their nominations for their favorite Miami Lakes small businesses in the following categories:
• Food & Drink – Best Cafe/Cup of Coffee, Best Lunch Spot, Best Dinner Restaurant.
• Shopping – Best Retailer
• Health – Best Doctor, Dentist, Therapist, etc.
• Professional Services – Best Accounting Firm, Law Office, Consultant, Brokerage Firm, etc.
Nomination form are due by Friday, September 22. The nominated business will be entered into a survey for the community to select the “Best of Miami Lakes” small business winner in each category. Winners will be presented on Small Business Saturday at the annual Festival of Lights on Main Street.
