The Express Employment Professionals office in Miami Lakes was one of more than 235 Express nationwide franchise locations that came together recently at local food banks and pantries across North America to help fight hunger – a growing epidemic that impacts millions of people in the U.S., Canada and around the world every day.
On June 11, the Miami Lakes team of employees, associates and friends, spent the afternoon at the Feeding South Florida Food Bank in Pembroke Park sorting and packaging nearly several thousand meals.
“As we focus on putting people to work, we’re also excited to volunteer and serve people in need in our community,” said Michael Huffaker, Miami Lakes Express franchisee.
“We were especially thrilled to see the impact of our efforts made toward helping children and families find a meal this summer,” he said. “This was a great time to bring families together and show what it looks like to give back.”
Over the past four years, Express offices have donated more than 265,000 meals to nonprofit organizations across North America through their efforts for “Brand It Blue” Day.
