Hotel Indigo-Miami Lakes hosted the 2nd Annual Canine Film Festival Weekend on July 14-15. The weekend kicked off on Saturday where dog lovers walked the red carpet and watched movies with their special four-legged friends at the Cinepolis Theater in Coconut Grove where every seat was filed with pups and people.

Directed by Laly Albalate, Lory Nelson Brunner and Karen Landrum, the Film Festival awards the “Barker Awards” in such categories as Best Drama, Best Documentary Score, Rising Actor, and more. The after party was hosted by 23 Bistro at Hotel Indigo.

Sales manager Chris Conte said, “As a pet friendly hotel, we had a special hotel rate and the pet fee was waived.”

On Sunday, doggy yoga was housed in the hotel lobby followed by a delicious brunch led by Yohanes Saenz. Chef Laly and Doggy Bag Cafe provided brunch for the dogs with organic dog treats.

While guests wee eating, they were entertained by a full-fledged doggy fashion show and guests could purchase dog clothes for all shapes and sizes.

Karen Landry said, “It was something really special and I have been fortunate to attend both years. Anytime you can have dog lovers together with a fashion show and dog yoga, and even see a movie with your puppy, that’s a good thing.”
