Intensity Dancers’ Studio celebrates its 13th anniversary, renovations to the Miami Lakes studio, the addition of an after school program and a brand new location in Miramar. The instructors at the studio are eagerly ushering in the new season which began on August 3.
Renovations to the Miami Lakes studio included tearing down the inner walls of the lobby to make a more inviting space for the dancers and their parents. Other changes within the studio included the repurposing of a former prop room into a new “quiet space” where dancers can participate in the new after school homework program.
The studio’s new after school program was created to alleviate the burden on parents in allotting specific time for homework completion for their children and for those dancers that may have difficulty getting to the studio after school without a designated driver.
The new program solves both problems in offering a bus route with stops at local schools such as Bob Graham Education Center and upon arrival to the studio the dancers complete their homework with the help of tutors and eat a snack before beginning their dance class. Once parents are ready to pick up their children after dance class the students have completed their homework and their dance practice for the day.
As the final cherry on top to all the big changes at the studio is the addition of another location in Miramar at the Miramar Square Shopping Plaza, 12164 Miramar Parkway, Miramar, FL 33025. The new 3,500 square-foot location houses three classrooms and a homework room for the after school program which is also offered at the new location.
Some of the dance styles offered at both locations are ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, jazz funk, contemporary, acrobatics, belly dancing and stretch leaps and turns.
