JetStream Federal Credit Union once again partnered with the CFT (Center for Financial Training) and Miami Dade College for the annual Future Bankers’ Camp program which provides a hands-on experience for high school students interested in careers in the financial industry.
The program includes a two-week educational track at Miami Dade College and a two-week internship at a financial institution. The educational track includes Teller and Customer Service training. The last two weeks are spent learning and working in a financial institution. After successful completion of the program, the students receive the ABA Bank Teller and Customer Service Rep Certificates followed by a graduation ceremony.
“We had a delightful group of interns this year and it was a pleasure getting to know them,” said JetStream CEO and CFT board member Jeanne Kucey. “The internship portion of the program offers the students a wonderful opportunity to learn how a real financial institution works.”
Davena Ellis, JetStream’s employee development specialist who coordinated the interns schedule said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to charge the world. I was honored to positively affect change in the lives of our young people, while simultaneously doing the same within the financial sector.”
