JetStream Federal Credit Union hit a “Grand Slam” in mid-September by sponsoring 100 underprivileged youth to attend a Miami Marlins baseball game.

The Marlins hosted a SAFEE Aviation Day at the ballpark not only to bring local youth to a game, but also to showcase the key element of SAFEE Aviation’s mission - “Building Runways for Today’s Future!”

SAFEE is a program which focuses on empowering youth to seek out careers in the field of Aviation. The youth work with the STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) which demonstrates how they can use what they learn in school in the real world.

This summer, SAFEE partnered with five local educational institutions to conduct aviation camps and with various South Florida cities to conduct aviation academies.

During the Marlins game, these youth got to experience a specially designed aviation expo in the Lexus Legend level of Marlins Stadium, as well as having an opportunity to speak one on one with local aviation professionals and schools.

“JetStream is proud to partner with SAFEE Flight, an organization that provides real opportunity to the youth of our communities by introducing them to careers in aviation,” said CEO Jeanne Kucey.
