JetStream Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Miami Lakes, is inviting the community to attend the grand opening of its new Doral branch on Wednesday, March 8.
JetStream president and CEO Jeanne Kucey explained the grand opening will also recognize JetStream’s distinguished designation as a Juntos Avanzamos Credit Union in recognition of the Credit Union’s commitment to serving and empowering the Hispanic Community.
JetStream becomes the first credit union in Florida to receive the “Together We Advance” designation by the National Federation of Community Credit Unions.
A member who can testify to JetStream’s commitment is Ozzi Muniz, a popular South Florida Spanish language radio personality with a daily show on TU94.9. He has been a member of JetStream Federal for many years.
Muniz remembers when he first found JetStream. “I was looking to buy a used car; I was young and didn’t have much credit. But everywhere I went, the banks were charging me very high rates, or said I didn’t qualify for an auto loan.
“A friend told me about his credit union and how they had helped him many times. When I arrived at JetStream, the staff and especially the manager, Carmen Garcia, were very helpful and explained in detail my various options. They offered me a loan payment I could afford at a good rate.
“My experience with JetStream was fantastic, I felt like part of the family and I will never forget them for taking care of me when I needed them the most.”
The Doral grand opening event, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 1200 N.W. 78 Avenue, will feature refreshments and hors d’oeuvres following the ribbon cutting and presentation.
