Main Street Players debut Men on Boats starting July 19

The Main Street Players located at 6766 Main Street presents the fourth show of its 2019 season, Men On Boats by Jaclyn Backhaus. Ten explorers. Four boats. One Grand Canyon. Men On Boats is the true(ish) history of an 1869 expedition when a one-armed captain and a crew of insane yet loyal volunteers set out to chart the course of the Colorado River. The show is directed by Danny Nieves, and the production manager is Patty Fernandez.

John Wesley Powell is portrayed by Amy Lee Gonzalez, William Dunn is portrayed by Lorena Estevez, John Colton Sumner is portrayed by Laura Ricks, Old Shady is portrayed by Lucy Nunez, Bradley is portrayed by Krystal Millie Valdez, O.G. Howland and Tsauwiat is portrayed by Trittney Huzzie, Seneca Howland and The Bishop is portrayed by Erin Willbanks, Frank Goodman and Mr. Asa is portrayed by Therese Callison, Hall is portrayed by Natalie Batista and Hawkins is portrayed by Mariana Gonzalez.
Men On Boats runs July 19 - August 11. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for students, seniors and military personnel. Theatre League/Industry are $20 with i.d. at the door only. Tickets may be purchased in advance at www.mainstreetplayers.com or at the door an hour prior to showtime.
Auditions for True West
The Main Street Players will hold auditions for its upcoming show True West. The auditions will take place on July 23-25 from 7-10 p.m. Callbacks will take place on July 25 from 7-10 p.m. The show is written by Sam Shepard and directed by Isaac Polanco.
