Main Street Players set auditions for Five Women Wearing the Same Dress

The Main Street Players will hold auditions for its summer production of “Five Women Wearing the Same Dress,” to be directed by Tatyana-Marie Carlo. 

In this audacious comedy by Alan Ball, five reluctant bridesmaids have taken refuge in an upstairs bedroom. They learn that despite their many differences, they all share a common bond that runs much deeper than their identical dresses. 

Auditions will be held at the Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main Street, and will run from Monday, March 26 to Tuesday, March 27 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. Call backs (if necessary) will be Wednesday, March 28 from 7 to 10 p.m. To schedule an audition time, email the director at Tatyana-Marie Carlo@brown.edu

The characters include: 

Frances, in her early 20’s is sweet faced, squeamish and religious. 

Meredith, also in her early 20’s, is athletic and rough. 

Trisha is in her early 30’s and she is striking, glamorous and stylish. 

Hopeless romantic, Georgeanne, is in the same age group as Trisha as well. 

Mindy, in her mid to late 30’s, is clumsy, blunt but also genuine. 

Tripp, in her late 20’s, and is charming, adorable and vibrant.

This audition is open to ALL women, men, transgender woman and men, or non-binary persons.

Requirements include a recent headshot, updated resume, preparation for a 1-2 minute comic monologue and participants must be prepared to read from the script.

Any foreseeable conflicts during the rehearsal process should be disclosed. Actors will receive compensation for their performances in this production.
