In a recent Facebook posting and press release, Miami Lakes Mayor Manny Cid announced he has sold his ownership interest in Always At Your Side Adult Day Care and indicated he would be opening a new Cafe in the town.
“The past three Christmas mornings, I would travel to Pembroke Pines to eat breakfast at Mayor’s Cafe, which is owner by Pembroke Pines Mayor Frank Ortis,” explained Cid. “I then ran into childhood friends, Luis Marquez and Jeffrey Rodriguez (both Miami Lakes residents), at the Mayor’s Cafe. That chance meeting led to a discussion of how great it would be to have a Mayor’s Cafe in Miami Lakes.”
Cid explained they approached Ortis about the possibility of franchising and Ortis agreed. Marquez, Rodriguez and Cid have partnered to bring the second Mayor’s Cafe location to Miami Lakes at the old Brothers of Brooklyn site in the Royal Oaks Shopping Plaza.
The restaurant is slated to open in the first quarter of 2018.
