Miami Lakes Mayor Michael Pizzi is the guest speaker for the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce’s general membership luncheon meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 14, at Don Shula’s Hotel.
Networking starts at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch at 12 noon. Deadline to reserve a table is at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 9.
Lunch admission is $30 for members and their guests who reserve, $35 for members and their guests who do not reserve, and $40 for non members (cash only.)
A two-term Mayor of Miami Lakes, Pizzi was the first town official elected without opposition during the town’s first general election and has served on the Council since its inception.
An attorney by trade, Pizzi was first in his class at the University of Miami Law School where he served on the Law Review. He subsequently worked as a Law Clerk to a Federal Judge before becoming a labor and employment lawyer, then a criminal defense attorney and eventually a municipal lawyer who has served as city attorney and deputy city attorney for municipalities.
Pizzi’s first love was community activism where he represented many community groups in their efforts to preserve their environment and quality of life. The father of two grown children, Pizzi has lived in Miami Lakes for 20 years.
