Long time Miami Lakes attorney Phil Rarick announced that his law firm will be holding two free seminars for local business owners and professionals this summer.
The first seminar on June 21 will focus on protecting families and businesses from court intervention in the event of a mental incapacity or death. The second seminar on July 26 will discuss advanced asset protection strategies for the professional.
Both seminars will be held in the law firm’s offices from XXX to XXX p.m. at 6500 Cowpen Road, Suite 204, in Miami Lakes.
“Small business owners must try to grow their business in an often hostile legal environment,” Rarick said. “These owners need to take maximum advantage of Florida laws, and sometimes laws in other states, to protect them from personal liability. Such planning needs to be done now - before legal threats arise,” he added.
Rarick said the statistics are alarming. For example, more than 60 percent of doctors over the age of 55 have been sued at least once, according to a new survey by the American Medical Association. “Regardless of how good a doctor you are, unfortunately, you need to plan for such a lawsuit,” he said.
Rarick has been practicing as an estate planning attorney in Miami Lakes for over 25 years and is the founder of the law firm Rarick & Beskin. He is an advocate for helping small business owners grow, and is a frequent speaker on legal issues that may limit growth.
Rarick is past president of the Miami Lakes Bar Association and active in local community events.
