Miami Lakes Town Foundation offers $1,000 grants

The Miami Lakes Town Foundation is accepting grant applications from groups that embrace its mission to support continuing education; literacy; youth; beautification projects and cultural events.
Special consideration is given to applicants whose projects promote kindness.
As many as 10 grants of up to $1,000 each may be applied for by March 10 at 5 p.m.
The foundation is supported by the Miami Lakes Food and Wine Festival, to be held Feb. 29 at Optimist Park.

Grant applications may be found at www.miamilakes-fl.gov/foundation; decisions will be made up to three weeks after submission.
The foundation will consider applications from community groups; school clubs or teams and other organizations in town.
Grants have been awarded to a robotics team to upgrade their hardware; a marching band to buy new uniforms and other supplies; a garden for Pre-Kindergarten students; a high school mental health club and a cheerleading squad, all at area schools.
