Psychologist and journalist Dr. Susana Blanco, is the guest speaker for the Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce membership meeting, scheduled on Wednesday, January 13, at Shula’s Grand Ballroom inside Don Shula’s Hotel.
Blanco earned her Master’s Degree in marriage and family therapy from the University of Miami and her doctoral degree from the University at Albany, State University of New York. She completed her clinical internship at Boston Medical Center at the Center for Multicultural Training, and her post-doctoral training at Edith Nourse Veteran’s Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts.
Prior to returning to full-time clinical work, Blanco was the assistant director of training for Carlos Albizu University’s Clinical Psychology Doctoral Program.
In addition to having worked as a full-time academician at the doctoral level and conducting research, Blanco has co-authored journal articles and presented at national and international conferences on various topics.
Blanco focuses on developing and maintaining meaningful, personal and professional relationships through honest, vulnerable and wholehearted presence and communication. Blanco believes this to be the key to success in all areas of life and is passionate about sharing this perspective with others who want to live more authentically.
Blanco and her partner, Dr. Alvarez-Jimenez, are the co-owners of Thrive Psychological Associates in Miami Lakes.
