On the east side of town, just north of Miami Lakes Drive, there is the Miami Lakes Office Village.
Sixteen offices fill two rows of yellow buildings that offer a variety of services.
One of those companies is Deluxe Health Care, which moved to town from Sweetwater two-and-a-half years ago.
The company specializes in clinical trials for pharmaceutical companies, and also has sleep studies available, according to its website.
Herbie Pimentel, the company’s recruitment specialist, said executives wanted a quiet area.
“It’s the quality of the neighborhood,” Pimentel said.
The company does all phases of testing and research for pharmaceutical companies. It lists gastrointestinal studies; men’s health; neurology and respiratory studies on the firm’s website.
Like many other executives who have moved to town, Pimentel said it is the centralized location between both counties that is attractive.
Unlike other downtown areas, it’s not super crowded or very out of the way, he said, and that makes it easy for the patients to reach their office.
“It’s very close to a lot of different areas of town that have different demographics,” Pimentel said.
Other businesses in the community include Creative Asset Protection Strategies, Inc. that specializes in taxes, asset protection and estate planning; Beyond the Spine Solutions a family practice physician’s office and The Henderson Financial Group, which offers a variety of financial planning services.
Also, the Law Office of J.M. Perez which specializes in maritime law, personal injury and medical malpractice; Thorsen and Cruset, P.A. public accountants; Savin Medical Group, which does medical research and therapies; Arvelo Accounting; People Trucking Insurance which sells commercial transportation insurance; LMG Group, Inc. a supplier to hospitality businesses and restaurants; American Home Health Agency, which provides home health care services and Diana Cepeda Advanced Esthetic, which specializes in body and facial aesthetics.
