Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) will observe Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on Friday, April 10, instead of the national observance on April 23 to minimize disruptions to testing (FCAT 2.0, FSA, FAIFS, and FSA EOC).
Designed to be more than a career day, the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day program goes beyond the average “shadow” an adult experience. Exposing girls and boys to what a parent or mentor in their life does during the work day is important, but showing them the value of their education, helping them discover the power and possibilities associated with a balanced work and family life does more.
Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day provides parents and students an opportunity to share how they envision the future and begin steps towards their end goals. This hands-on and interactive environment is key to achieving success.
