Miami Lakes is ready for the Summer Fun to begin. The Town announced it will be hosting several summer camp programs in coordination with various community partners.
YMCA Summer Camps will be available 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. from June 11 through August 17 at two Miami Lakes locations. Campers will participate in field trips, physical activities, themebased activities, friendship, songs and chants, arts and crafts, enjoy nutritional lunches, and be coached by YMCA mentors.
Children, ages 5 to 15 years old, can participate in the YMCA Summer Camp at Royal Oaks Park, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue, and will have a choice of a Traditional Camp ($124 per week), a Sports Camp or Dance Camp ($160 per week), or Leaders in Training (for teens only at $90 per week). There is a one time $50 registration fee.
Teens, ages 13 to 15 years old, can choose the YMCA Summer Camp at Miami Lakes Youth Center (The Spot), 6075 Miami Lakes Drive East. Cost is $90 per week plus a one time $50 registration fee.
A Code Explorers Summer Camp, hosted by the awardwinning 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to teaching, motivating and expanding participation in computer science, technology and engineering using mobile technology and learning, will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for two weeks from June 11 through June 22, at Miami Lakes Optimist Park Clubhouse, 6411 N.W. 162 Street.
Children, ages 7 to 13 years old, will participate in such classes as Internet of Things, Virtual Reality of Gaming, 3D Modeling, and Engineering Career Explorations. The cost is $220 per week.

Bricks 4 Kidz Camp – Devoted to providing an extraordinary atmosphere, children learn to build and play with LEGO Bricks.
Classes are designed to teach the fundamentals of S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education built around proprietary model plans, inspired by engineers and architects.
Two camps will be held from July 30 to August 3, and August 6 to August 10, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Miami Lakes Optimist Park, 6411 N.W. 162 Street. Cost is $180 per week and a sibling discount is available.
