Two Main Street Players leaders announce retirement

Business Thursday, July 5, 2018

Longtime Main Street Playhouse (MSP) president and executive director Clara Lyzniak and artistic director Robert Coppel retired from their positions on the MSP board of directors, effective as of the June 20 board meeting.

Both Lyzniak and Coppel have been serving in their positions since 2006, but each of them have been involved with the theatre company since before then. Lizniak joined the group in 1997, when it was still The Community Theatre of Hialeah-Miami Lakes, and Coppel became involved as an on-stage actor during the 1980’s.

The pair have unselfishly devoted their time and talents to the continued growth of MSP, putting their hearts and souls into everything they do, and they will truly be missed.

Isaac Polanco, the MSP vice president and director of Spanish shows, will step into the role of president, Patty Fernandez will serve as the new vice president and Daniel Nieves will assume the role of artistic director.
