Are you smarter than a 5th grader?

You might be if The Education Fund gave grants to your teachers for creative learning projects while you were in school.

The Miami Lakes non-profit, which promotes excellence in Miami-Dade Public Schools, is hosting an hour-long, virtual fundraiser that pits kids against adults on Wednesday, May 26th from 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.

The event is presented by Ocean Bank.

If you’re active in South Florida’s business community, it will be fun for you to see executives compete against 10-year-olds as they try to calculate the area of a rectangle or explain the difference between a comet and an asteroid.

Contestants will include leaders from Ocean Bank; Sapoznik Insurance; PNC Bank; The Children’s Trust; Wells Fargo; Greater Miami Convention & Visitors BureauTD Bank; Humana; Kaufman Rossin; Bradesco BAC Florida Bank; The Miami Foundation; Florida Power & Light; Pinnacle and the Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation, the non-profit said.

You can purchase $100 tickets at WWW.EducationFund.org. A Zoom link will be sent to ticketholders' email.

The monies raised will benefit The Education Fund’s Ocean Bank Center, an 11,000 square foot warehouse in Medley which provides students and teachers with materials and supplies.

Get on Zoom and see the grownups test their knowledge of STEM, health and wellness, social studies and the arts.
