The Graham Companies will host a workshop on Aug. 28 at Miami Lakes Town Hall to present its newest development: Lakeside Village, a multifamily rental community that it plans to build on the banks of Graham Dairy Lake.
The apartments to be built were originally part of a proposed senior village planned for that site, along Oak Lane at Northwest 146th Street.
After many years of hard work and significant financial investment, the company said it was not able to find a health care partner for the project.
The land is zoned for residential use. Though allowed density is for 340 units, just 220 apartments will be built.
The plans for the 9.45 acre site propose that buildings will rise just above four stories, or 53 feet, though heights of 75 feet are allowed.
The Graham Companies is proceeding with plans for the apartments with no age restriction for residents. There will not be any retail businesses at the property.
Amenities will include a fitness center; resort-style pool; a dog park; club room; conference rooms and offices for residents who work from home.
Of 220 apartments, 128 will be one-bedroom units; 43 one-bedroom units will have dens and 49 units will have two bedrooms.
Residents are invited to see the designs at the workshop where they can ask questions and learn more about the project.
The workshop will begin at 6 p.m. at Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main St.
