Owner Christina Zamorano celebrated the grand opening of her new spa, Selah Skin Studio, on Wednesday, October 16, located at 16415 N.W. 67 Avenue in the Windmill Gate Shopping Center.

After seven years of building loyal and engaged clientele, Zamorano, a skin care specialist, is opening her first store front in Miami Lakes. The spa offers a more natural, holistic approach to healthy skin. Selah Skin Studio focuses on helping their clients achieve maximum results by educating them on natural, holistic treatments and products available to those who do not wish to undergo more invasive treatments.

Employing four professionals, the spa offers a variety of skin treatments including anti-aging facials, organic peels, diamond dermabrasion, acne recovery programs, anti-cellulite body treatments,  full body detox wraps, custom tailored massages and make-up.

The services include an array of natural and highly effective ingredients and essential oils such as tea tree oil, the ultimate acne-bacteria fighter, a favorite among clients, organic manuka honey to calm and hydrate the skin, willow herb extract, a very effective anti-inflammatory ingredient, and the most sought after facial infusion non-chemical peel containing retinaldehyde, which is vitamin A in it’s natural and most potent form, an anti-aging ingredient.

After Zamorano’s 17 year career of office management positions, she decided steer her life in a new direction and enter the serenity of the treatment room and serving others.

“I found myself coming across many stories of women from teens to adults, struggling to understand their skin’s behavior and how to address it. The more I learned about the skin and how it works, the more I wanted to help," said Zamorano. "I realized that most people were taking the wrong approach and using the wrong products. I also found that many people were only treating the skin topically and not embracing a more holistic approach to treatment. This is how holistic skin care became my passion."

"Selah is a Hebrew word that means to 'pause and reflect.' Selah is a little word that I kept stumbling upon in the book of Psalms – 71 times, actually. As I looked up the meaning I realized that it was a beautiful reminder for us to 'pause and reflect.' The heart behind my business has always been and will continue to be that those who need to be reminded to 'selah' will make their way to our little skin studio here in Miami Lakes,” said Zamorano.

Over the years Zamorano and her team have gained rigorous training in working with the best in esthetic lines such as Aveda, Skin Fitness, and Osmosis Skin Care. These are some of the world’s leading brands within the holistic skin care industry.

“Miami Lakes is a great destination for small businesses to excel," said Vice Mayor Manny Cid at the grand opening event. “It is the best known town in Miami-Dade County to grow a business and raise a family. Our economy depends heavily on the ingenuity and determination of our small business owners. We are pleased to welcome Selah Skin Studio to Miami Lakes and proud they have selected our town as their home,” Cid added.

In celebration of the grand opening, Selah Skin Studio will honor all first time clients with a $20 discount off of their first body or facial treatment. The studio will be open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
