On Nov. 22, the 40th Annual Main Street Festival of Lights kicks off the holiday season with Santa, elves and lots of free, family-friendly fun.
Children can get their faces painted, enjoy performers, write letters to the big guy in the red suit, decorate cookies, donate new, unwrapped toys for kids ages 4 - 13, and eat shaved ice and other treats.
Santa will arrive by 6:30 p.m., the street will go dark and with a flick of a giant switch, he’ll light up downtown.
The Miami Lakes Farmer’s Market that is usually on Meadow Walk along Graham Park every Saturday will be moved closer to the festival for one day, to New Barn Road.
