The Christmas season is a time of joy, sharing good times with family and friends, and spreading cheer to everyone who comes across our path. Realizing that countless children will wake up with nothing under the Christmas tree, students from Monsignor Edward Pace High School wanted to make sure that every child had a toy and something to smile about on that special day.

The Caravan of Joy Toy Drive was put together to bring happiness and joy to underprivileged children in our South Florida community. For the past six years, Pace has partnered with NBC 6 and Telemundo 51 by donating thousands of new toys – and this year will be no different.

Several of the school’s clubs and organization including Key Club, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, Advanced Health Club, Student Government Association and Spartan Ambassador Society as well as the Leadership Staff set a goal of collecting 500 new, unwrapped toys. Toys were delivered by club representatives on December 13 to the NBC 6 studios in Miramar.

“Every child deserves to wake up on Christmas morning and find something under the tree. It feels great knowing that through the Caravan of Joy we can help make the holidays even better for hundreds of kids,” said senior Nickolas Fernandez.

The Pace High School family is grateful to the Caravan of Joy for their invitation to participate in this great event and to be able to spread the joy of the Christmas season to many. Merry Christmas!
