More than 50 senior citizens graduated from the new iSenior Program, thanks to the Department of Elder Affairs Community for a Lifetime Support Projects to Elders Grant in partnership with Hialeah Miami Lakes Adult and Community Education and the Town of Miami Lakes.
The grant funded the free intergenerational technology education course for seniors in the community who wanted to learn about the latest tablet technology.
Hialeah Miami Lakes Adult and Community Education's principal Judith Cardona-Delgado and program coordinator Miriam Duman thanked Miami Lakes for partnering with the Adult Program to offer these classes to elderly citizens who did not grow up with computers and face difficulties picking up technological skills on their own.
The iSenior Program is one of a variety of classes that Miami Lakes and the Hialeah Miami Lakes Adult and Community Education offers Town residents.
The Town is offering seniors the chance to sign-up for the next iSenior program by contacting Katya Lysak, Community Services manager by email to lysakk@miamilakes-fl.gov or by calling 305-364-6100.
