Miami Lakes Athletic Club raises funds for women’s health

     The Miami Lakes Athletic Club presented The Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative with a $500 check on Dec. 19. 

     Money for the donation was collected in October from athletes in Zumba and Pilates classes, spinning and other courses and at events held at the athletic club. 

     The annual donation helps local women who are uninsured get information about early disease prevention and screenings, the non-profit organization said.

     Andrea Ivory, founder and executive director of The Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative, accepted the donation.
