Last fall the Miami Lakes Town Council recognized the work of the volunteers on the Mental Health Task Force and the Veterans Committee, and proclaimed September as Suicide Awareness Month.
During a council meeting, Frank Indiero, Sr. shared how his son Frank “Frankie” Indiero, Jr. took his life in 2019 when he was 19.
A crepe myrtle tree and a plaque near Barbara Goleman Senior High School were dedicated to the young man and suicide prevention.
In the photo, Mental Health Task Force Chair Lindsay Wallick, Gary Cardenas, a member of the Task Force and the Veterans Committee and Frank Indiero, Sr., shown from left, accepted the proclamation.
If you or someone you know has thoughts of self-harm, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988 or 1-800-273-8255.
