Miami Lakes Youth Activities Task Force, in conjunction with the Miami-Dade County Police Miami Lakes Section, sponsored the 16th annual Bike Rodeo and Safety Day at Town Hall, 6601 Main Street.
Officials labeled the event a success with hundreds in attendance and all children receiving free helmets and a chance to win a new bicycle.
Bike Rodeo and Safety Day is one of the Task Force’s longest running events and is also considered one of the Town’s special “Play Days in Miami Lakes” under the prestigious “Playful City USA” designation.
The event, sponsored by Andy’s Police Supplies and Miami Children’s Hospital, provided children with the opportunity to learn about bicycle safety while interacting with various branches of law enforcement officers.
