Burglar alarm renewals are due in June

Community Wednesday, June 11, 2014

It is time for residents and business owners to renew their burglar alarms, and the Town of Miami Lakes has made the process easy through its Burglar Alarm Registration Program (CryWolf). Renewals are due by June 30.

Each registered resident or business owner has been issued a unique alarm registration number through the CryWolf False Alarm Registration Program which is contracted with the town. Using the unique account number, residents can visit the town’s website, www.miamilakes-fl.gov, and under “Online Services” click on “Alarm Registration” which takes them to a new site. This is where users can renew, register additional alarms, pay fees, update user account information and view all false alarm incidences.

Burglar alarm registration is a Town ordinance, so it is encouraged for those who have not yet registered their alarm system to do so through the Town’s Burglar Alarm Registration Program.

To renew online:

1. Go to the town’s website, www.miamilakes-fl.gov and under “Online Services” click on “Alarm Registration” and choose the “Current Account” tab on the top right of the page.

2.  Enter your account number (AlarmNo) and password (Passwrd) in the text boxes.

3.  Go to “Update User Information” and update any necessary information within the tabs. Once you have updated or have confirmed that all information is correct, you MUST click “Submit.”

4.  You may pay your renewal fee online (confirmation of payment will be accessible for printing). You may also pay your renewal fee by mail. Checks should be payable to the Miami Lakes False Alarm Reduction Program and mailed directly to Miami Lakes Alarm Reduction, PO Box 864840, Orlando, FL 32886-4840.
