The BK drive-thru restaurant in the Park Centre Shops, decked out in lights, wreaths and even a tree, has intrigued residents who watched the decorations go up.
On Thursday, Burger King announced that all the festivity is to promote a gift of sorts to customers: choose two items in its “Mix and Match Deal” -- a Whopper, Big Fish, Original Chicken Sandwich and Chicken Fries – for $5.
This year has been awful and unpredictable, so why not jump ahead to the holiday season, the company said.
Miami Lakes’ BK location, which was recently renovated with an elegant façade, is the only one in the chain to get the Christmas treatment and may appear in television commercials.

The meal deal doesn’t have an end date; the lights are scheduled to come down on July 28, the company said.
