May 24 Senior Art Show The Town of Miami Lakes senior art class will present work by artists 60+ during a reception at Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main St. Free. 7 p.m.

May 27 Town of Miami Lakes Memorial Day Ceremony Presented by the Veterans Committee to honor the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Speakers from the U.S. Armed Forces will read the citations of Medal of Honor recipients. Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 NW 82nd Ave. 11 a.m. Free. 

May 28 Better Bus Network Information Session by Miami-Dade County Learn about new routes, vouchers, transit connections and service changes. Miami Lakes Town Hall, 6601 Main St. Free, noon - 2 p.m.

May 29 FALA Senior Day Miami Presented by the Florida Assisted Living Association and the Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee to celebrate seniors with lunch, dancing and entertainment. May 29 Public Outreach Meeting No. 1. The Town of Miami Lakes Public Works Department will host a public meeting to introduce its vulnerability assessment and adaptation plan study to residents and allow for input. The plan will evaluate the town’s vulnerability to floods. Town Hall, 6601 Main St. 6 p.m. Free.

June 7 - June 23 “No Cojas Lucha” at the Main Street Players Join the Main Street Players for the third show of the season and annual Spanish language performance “No Cojas Lucha” [“Don’t pick a fight”] by Sonia Cordoves. The show follows a family going through the marriage of their daughter to a Gringo” (an American who doesn’t speak Spanish). Set in Hialeah.
