Dec. 3 Mrs. Claus Book Reading. The Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee is bringing Mrs. Claus to the Main Street Players Theater for a fun holiday storytime. Main Street Playhouse, 6812 Main St. 12 p.m. Free. 

Dec. 9 Senior Bingo Luncheon. Join the Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee for its monthly bingo game. Enjoy lunch and an opportunity to win prizes at this fun event for residents 60+.

Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 NW 87th Ave. 11 a.m. Free. 

Dec. 9 “Aesop’s Fable-ous Christmas Tree.” The Main Street Players children’s theater workshop presents “Aesop’s Fable-ous Christmas Tree” for their 2022 holiday show. Main Street Players

6812 Main St., Dec. 9 - Dec. 11 and Dec. 16 - Dec. 18. Fridays at 7 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Visit for tickets. 

Dec. 10 Reindeer Run 5K. Join the Miami Lakes Veterans Committee for the Reindeer Run 5k at Veterans Park. Kids and adults can enjoy this fun and festive race at Veterans Park, 15151 NW 82nd Ave., 8 a.m. Price reduction: $20 for adults and $10 for kids.

Dec. 10 Miami Lakes Educational Center Jaguar Experience Showcase. Learn more about Miami Lakes Educational Center’s programs during a showcase for prospective students and their families.  Miami Lakes Educational Center, 5780 NW 158 St. Register at 10 a.m. Free. 

Dec. 10 Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Join the Miami Lakes Sports Hall of Fame as it welcomes the class of 2022 and recognizes outstanding athletes or those who have provided opportunities for others to experience sports programs. Miami Lakes Optimist Park Clubhouse, 6411 NW 162nd St. 7 p.m. Free. 

Dec. 14 Miami Lakes Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon. Join the gathering of business owners and executives for the final luncheon of 2022.  Miami Lakes Mayor Manny Cid is the guest speaker. Networking starts at 11:30 a.m., lunch begins at noon. Miami Lakes Hotel Main, 6842 Main St. 11:30 a.m. $35 for members, $45 for non-members or on the day of the event. 

Dec. 16 Senior Social Christmas Party. The Elderly Affairs Committee presents its annual free Christmas Party. Residents 60+ can enjoy the festivities at the Roberto Alonso Community Center, 16500 NW 87th Ave. 12 p.m.  

Dec. 16 Movies in the Park. The Youth Activities Task Force’s annual movies in the park screenings return with a showing of Dr. Suess’ “The Grinch” at Veterans Park, 15151 NW 82nd Ave. 6 p.m. Free. 

Dec. 19 Blasting Advisory Board invites residents and property management companies to discuss issues related to blasting. Committee will gather questions to present to miners at a roundtable in January. 7 p.m. at town hall, 6601 Main St.
