The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office invited Miami Lakes residents for a taste of frozen yogurt and safety tips during the annual National Night Out.
The event is meant to encourage people to meet with law enforcement and strengthen bonds between a community and its police force.
This year, Miami Lakes district deputies met residents at Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt in the Cypress Village Shopping Center, where they chatted and handed out fingerprinting cards for kids.
Residents and deputies got to enjoy free frozen yogurt provided by Menchie’s while they chatted.
Resident, Lucia Toro, 5, who in 2025 rode alongside deputies during the Neighborhood Improvement Committee’s Autism Awareness bike ride, met up with deputies this year at National Night Out as well.
