Community Wednesday, December 5, 2018

It’s time to play some “funky” music. Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee will present a Disco Concert featuring the disco cover band, The Playlist, at 7 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, at Miami Lakes Picnic Park West, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
The Playlist was founded by lead vocalist Mireya Valdes-Medina and husband Tony Medina (guitar/lead vocals). It also features drummer Monchy Coruguedo, and bassist/vocalist Michael Mut, who currently plays in a separate music project along with Tony Medina.
Other musicians include Rene Martinez and Rey Diaz (percussion), Lizzie Valdes and Alex Diaz (vocals), keyboardist Betzy Consuegra, Robert Smiley (sax/flute), and Rich Dixon (trumpet).
The event will feature a special appearance by Harry Wayne Casey (”KC”) from KC and the Sunshine Band. Mayor Manny Cid and councilmembers will be presenting a proclamation to Casey.
Food trucks and other refreshments will be available for concert-goers.
